Abigail Gower, began studying piano at the age of 7 and accordion at 12. Abigail attended parochial school and from a young age she was encouraged to begin singing and accompanying on piano during masses. She continued volunteering at St. Mary’s until going away to college, where she then began as a substitute pianist/organist for Brewer First Congregational church, eventually becoming their full time accompanist. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance and a Minor in Theater from the University of Maine. While at the university she also studied abroad in Vienna, Austria, participating in a selective, intensive program for vocalists and collaborative pianists. She is currently working on a Master’s degree in Collaborative Piano at Longy School of Music. Abigail currently lives in Boston and is also a music director at Watertown Children’s Theater, teaches private lessons at Forte Piano Music School and provides accordion music aboard the gondolas of Gondola di Venezia.
