Permanence and Transience, Rev Bev Preaching

One of the earliest Unitarians, the Reverend Theodore Parker of Massachusetts offered a sermon that remains today on the greatest hits list of Unitarian sermons. “A Discourse on the Transient and the Permanent in Christianity”, asked the questions, “What is permanent and true in our religion? What should we keep, and what might we be willing to let go?” These seem good questions to continue asking as we seek a balance between holding on to what is serving us well and letting go of what may be a barrier to forward thinking and movement.
